Wuhan Institute of Quantum Technology is organized by East Lake High-tech Zone, relying on Wuhan University, CAS Institute of Precision Measurement, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, mainly to carry out basic theoretical research and core key technology research in quantum science, research directions including quantum detection and quantum communication, quantum precision measurement, etc., to promote quantum engineering demonstration applications and transformation of scientific and technological achievements, the goal of 3-5 years, the completion of quantum The goal is to establish the Wuhan branch of the National Laboratory of Quantum Science and Technology in 3-5 years, and to contribute to a high level of scientific and technological self-reliance and self-improvement.

Academician Dou Xiankang said in his speech that in recent years, with a number of major achievements such as Mozi and Jiuzhang concentrated, China's quantum science and technology has achieved from following and running to partially leading, and the systemic capability of quantum science and technology development is being steadily established. Wuhan University will support the development of the Institute in relevant advantageous disciplines, talent teams and other aspects, and carry out collaborative research on key technologies with partners to achieve a win-win situation for all parties and jointly create a new era of quantum.
The quantum technology industry is one of the "965" industries in Wuhan. Wuhan Institute of Quantum Technology was approved last year, and within a year, it has produced the first atomic quantum computing cloud platform in China, such as the "Cool Plains Quantum Cloud", and is expected to release the first 100+ bits atomic quantum computing prototype in China within the year.

Quantum communication is a kind of optical communication, and Optics Valley has obvious advantages in developing quantum industry. Optics Valley is striving to build an innovation curatorship with international influence, accelerating the construction of Optics Valley Science and Innovation Corridor with the East Lake Science City as the core.
