On August 20-21, 2022, the first CCF Quantum Computing Conference, organized by the China Computer Federation (CCF), co-organized by the CCF Quantum Computing Group, Strategic Support Force Information Engineering University and Zhengzhou University, and co-organized by Zhengzhou High-tech Zone Management Committee, National Supercomputing Center Zhengzhou and Zhengzhou Xinda Institute of Advanced Technology, was held in the "Green City" of Zhengzhou. The first "CCF Quantum Computing Conference" was held in Zhengzhou, the "Green City".

 

The conference is chaired by Prof. Guo Guangcan, Director of CCF Quantum Computing Group and Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and co-chaired by Prof. Guo Yunfei, President of Strategic Support Force Information Engineering University, Prof. Liu Jiongtian, Secretary of Party Committee of Zhengzhou University, Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Prof. Zheng Jianhua, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Strategic Support Force Information Engineering University.

 

The theme of the conference, "Quantum Empowerment, Win-Win Future", means: Quantum Empowerment is not a subversion and replacement, but a synergistic development and win-win future.

In the opening ceremony on the morning of the 20th, Tao Manxi, deputy director of Henan Provincial Science and Technology Department, pointed out that as one of the early provinces to pay attention to the frontier technology of quantum information, Henan Province has continued to pay attention to quantum science and technology innovation in recent years and launched a series of major science and technology innovation projects such as superconducting quantum chips, striving to achieve disruptive breakthroughs in some areas.

Dr. Yulong Fu, Deputy Director of Quantum Science and Technology Yangtze River Delta Industrial Innovation Center, gave a speech entitled "Thinking about the construction of quantum information technology industry system". Then, Dr. Shan Zheng, Deputy Director of CCF Quantum Computing Group and Professor of Strategic Support Force Information Engineering University, gave a speech entitled "Quantum Superiority Paradox: Construction and Verification of the Problem". He pointed out that "quantum superiority" is not necessarily a single indicator, but can be measured from multiple perspectives, for example, comparing quantum computing with classical computing in terms of arithmetic power, energy consumption, artificial intelligence, graphs and other issues. He suggested that the CCF Quantum Computing Specialty Group should publish a list of quantum computing segments, and that industry participants should collaborate to propose benchmarks for measuring quantum computing performance.

On the morning of the 21st, the invited presentations continued in full swing. Prof. Jianhua Zheng, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Professor of Information Engineering University of Strategic Support Forces, delivered a speech to explain the importance and development trend of quantum computing.

 

Professor Duan Luming, Chair Professor of Basic Sciences and Yao Qizhi Chair Professor at Tsinghua University, reviewed the recent scientific progress in quantum computing and networking with captured ions. Ding Zintai, Distinguished Professor at Tsinghua University's Yau Cheng-Tung Center for Mathematics, introduced the process of developing post-quantum cryptographic security standards in the United States and its impact. In addition, he analyzed the great challenges in post-quantum migration work in the coming decades. Yu Yang, Professor of School of Physics, Nanjing University, introduced the development of superconducting quantum, and the latest scientific progress. Yongjie Zhao, Vice President of Hongyuan Quantum, introduced the latest progress of quantum computing in superconducting circuits, semiconductor quantum dots and other technical routes and quantum software and quantum applications at home and abroad, as well as looking into the future efforts needed to promote the applications in the NISQ era.

In addition to the invited lectures, two days before the opening of the conference, the organizers invited scholars from Tsinghua University, Peking University, Institute of Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences, National University of Defense Technology and China University of Science and Technology to give in-depth pre-conference seminars (Tutorial) on quantum AI, optical quantum integration, quantum line simulation, quantum programming and other aspects.

 

Starting from the afternoon of 20th, the 1st CCF Quantum Computing Conference held as many as 10 special forums, including the 1st CCF Quantum Computing Conference and the 1st Quantum Computing Industry Summit in Hefei.

 

This year's conference introduced and discussed the current status and development trend of quantum computing from hardware and supporting technologies, software, algorithms to applications.

 

In the afternoon of the 20th, the first session focused on the development of ion trap and neutral atom quantum computing. In the second session on the afternoon of the 21st, physical systems such as superconductors, semiconductors, and optical quanta were presented. The development of quantum computing hardware also relies on many supporting technologies. In terms of algorithms, the afternoon session of the 21st "Forum IX: Quantum Computing Theory and Algorithms" introduced the performance of quantum algorithms on specific problems, from circuit optimization and quantum error correction to quantum algorithms, in particular, the latest research by Professor Li Lvzhou of Sun Yat-sen University demonstrated that playing Mastermind on a quantum computer In particular, a recent study by Professor Li Luzhou of Sun Yat-sen University showed that playing Mastermind on a quantum computer can achieve a higher win rate than a classical computer.
