China launches world's first commercial cryptographic chip supporting NIST superiority-resistant quantum algorithm
On July 11, 2022, PQC 1.0, a commercial quantum attack-resistant cryptographic chip, was successfully unveiled to support CRYSTALS-KYBER and CRYSTALS-Dilithium, the pre-winning quantum attack-resistant algorithms announced by NIST on July 5 and which will become the standard.
PQC 1.0 is the world's first commercial cryptographic chip to support the third round of NIST winning algorithms, which is of great significance to the security of information in the era of quantum computing, and was launched by Wuxi Mu Chuang Integrated Circuit Design Co.

NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) has been soliciting post-quantum (or anti-quantum) algorithms since December 2016, and after three rounds of screening, on July 5, 2022, NIST announced the four algorithms that were pre-winners and will become the standard. MuTron's first-generation quantum attack-resistant cryptographic chip PQC 1.0 is a product born from this background.
As the world's first commercial quantum attack-resistant cryptographic chip that supports the NIST standard winning algorithm, PQC 1.0 chip has a unified agile computing architecture (one-fits-all) and supports both the winning encryption/key encapsulation algorithm CRYSTALS-KYBER and the digital signature algorithm CRYSTALS-Dilithium. PQC1.0 adopts 28nm process, with chip area less than 3mm2 and power consumption 150mW. The performance of anti-quantum attack cryptographic algorithm can achieve up to 20 times of computational acceleration compared to mainstream CPUs such as Apple M1 and ARM Cortex-A72, and the energy efficiency is increased by more than 2 orders of magnitude. In addition, Mucron also launched the PQC development board to support both quantum-attack resistant cryptographic application solutions and commercial cryptography solution development.
