The world's first rail transit line equipped with a quantum secure communication system is put into operation in Wuhan

According to Xinhua News Agency, on December 26, the world's first line using quantum encryption technology for rail transit construction-Wuhan Metro Line 16 was officially opened for operation on the 26th. Wuhan Metro Line 16 has a total length of 33.1 kilometers with 12 stations and a design speed of 120 kilometers per hour. It is currently the fastest subway in Wuhan.
 

The quantum secure communication system on Wuhan Metro Line 16 was independently developed in China and came from Beijing Zhongchuangwei Quantum Communication Technology Co., Ltd. This quantum secure communication system is composed of a network management server, a central control server, a key management server and a security gateway, and is installed in the comprehensive monitoring system of the subway.
 

Zeng Haicheng, President of Quantum Corporation, introduced that the data of the whole system of Wuhan Metro Line 16, including the upload and download of node data in the site, and the interaction between data centers, are protected by quantum encryption. The application of quantum encryption technology will greatly improve the safety of subway lines in commanding and dispatching, driving, and information release, creating an unbreakable "golden bell".

 

Zeng Haicheng said that the high security index of quantum encryption technology is mainly due to the use of the three characteristics of single photons, namely, non-copying, indivisible, and undetectable. The quantum secure communication system added to the classic communication security system of Wuhan Metro Line 16 has already been partially applied in the fields of national security, finance, and energy. Rail transit is a large-scale public infrastructure in a city with a dense flow of people. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen information security management and improve the ability to resist risks.

 

On the same day (December 26), according to the Chongqing Daily, on December 23, a number of major projects in the Bishan area of ​​the Western (Chongqing) Science City and the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Science and Technology City were put into production. Among them, the national wide-area quantum secure communication "Chengdu-Chongqing trunk line" constructed by Chongqing Guoke Quantum Communication Network Co., Ltd. ("Chongqing Guoke Quantum") has been completed in October. Quantum communication from Chongqing to Wuhan is currently under construction. "Han-Yu Main Line".

 

Quantum communication has the characteristics of non-eavesdropping and non-decipherability, and can ensure the security and autonomous controllability of data in the transmission process. Therefore, the quantum secure communication trunk line is equivalent to the "highway" of information security. According to reports, since it settled in Bishan in 2020, Chongqing Guoke Quantum has started the construction of the 330-kilometer quantum communication network "Chengdu-Chongqing Trunk Line", which was officially put into operation at the end of October this year, and connected to the backbone of the country through the quantum satellite communication system. network.
 
At present, the company is launching the construction of the "Han-yu trunk line" and strives to be completed in the first half of next year. At that time, the "Chengdu-Chongqing trunk line" will realize the intercommunication with other metropolitan area networks of the national backbone network through optical fiber quantum lines, and realize the safe circulation of cross-domain data in Chongqing and important cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hangzhou, as well as cross-border data facing the world.
 
Relying on the "Chengdu-Chongqing trunk line" of quantum communication, Chongqing Guoke Quantum is promoting pilot projects in Chongqing Industrial Internet, Smart City, and e-government extranet, and has provided information security custody services for more than 30 government and enterprises. At present, Chongqing Institute of Quantum Information Security Technology Co., Ltd. has been established and plans to be established as a national quantum engineering application center within five years.
